I'm Thankful For Nicolas Jaar: "Darkside" and "Don't Break My Love" EPs

When he's not studying comparative literature at Brown University in Rhode Island, 21 year-old Chilean-American Nicolas Jaar is recording, producing, and releasing minimal house/electronic music on his own record label, Clown & Sunset. If you missed the release of his critically acclaimed debut, Space Is Only Noise, you can stream the album here. Despite his studies at Brown, Jaar has clearly found time to continue recording and releasing music. He unveiled the two-track EP, "Don't Break My Love," on November 1st, and he is currently working on the longer EP, "Darkside," a collaboration with his live guitarist, Dave Harrington. Material from the "Darkside" EP will be debuted at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on December 1st, and you can buy tickets here. The addition of Harrignton's guitar to Jaar's minimal, often sparse and organic soundscapes makes for a catchy, addictive shift. Listen to both Darkside (above) and the material fom his "Don't Break My Love" EP (below). I'm thankful for awesome music. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
