Youth Lagoon, the name for 22 year-old Trevor Powers' bedroom music project out of Boise, Idaho, is an 8 song LP of immediate familiarity and dreamy nostalgia. The low-fi vocal work, catchy guitar lines, melodic keys, electronic percussion, and often slow-building arrangements make this album perfect for the approaching winter days. While the album seems somehow clouded and gauzy, it responds beautifully to the volume dial on your stereo. Turn it up and let yourself be enveloped in Powers' world.
