Sea Wolf are an L.A. based indie folk band currently consisting of lead singer and songwriter Alex Brown Church, keyboardist Lisa Fendelander, bassist Theodore Liscinski, drummer Joey Ficken, guitarist Nathan Anderson, and Cellist Joyce Lee. The band's latest album, Old World Romance, was produced by Phil Ek (Band of Horses, The Shins, Fleet Foxes). Despite Church's departed from producer Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Monsters of Folk, M. Ward) who worked on Sea Wolf's second album, the band isn't breaking new ground with their release. Instead, Church and his band have created what critic Steven Arroyo calls, "instantly familiar but never remarkable," in his review for Consequence of Sound . While I agree with Arroyo, I also think it's nice to hear something familiar now and again. Stream the entire album below. Enjoy.
