Janelle Monae Revisited

After reflecting on Kanye's new album, I decided to give Janelle Monae's album, The Archandroid, a back-to-back listen to see how it holds up and further consider my question of gender inequity among critics. I stick by my previous assertion that this should be in the running for album of the year (okay, okay, I said it is album of the year. Forgive me for being excited), and I think it trumps Kanye's album in scope, creativity, and execution, and talent exhibited. Monae's voice is incredible, her genre crossing inspiring, and her album immensely enjoyable. I really do think it's fun and fantastic.
