Watching Tall Heights last night at Boston's Cafe 939, it was difficult to believe such a lush sound was radiating from such a small band. Long-time friends Tim Harrington (guitar/vocals) & Paul Wright (cello/vocals) charmed us with their seamlessly executed harmonies and catchy take on traditional folk-rock. Their easygoing stage presence and playful dynamic made an already intimate show even more endearing, and it was evident that their comfort with one another was matched only by the comfort each felt with his respective instrument. When we had the chance to chat with them briefly after the performance, we were surprised to learn they honed their skills playing in Boston's Faneuil Hall Marketplace. They told us that they've spent most of their time touring their native New England and northeast, but a successful debut album, beautiful new EP, "Rafters," and enchanting live performances have earned them a spot at this year's South X Southwest. Check out single, "To Be Young," below, and be sure to visit their website and purchase a copy of their new EP. Enjoy:
